Are you a player seeking a team or are you just looking to kill a few hours shooting hoops? Luckily you have both options here at GSC.

Intramural basketball at GSC started Jan. 28, 2008 when the Dunkers played the Slayers on court one and The Dingos played the Hoosiers on court two. The tournament, which has been a long standing tradition at GSC will continue through March 12, 2008. The two final teams will play each other at noon on court one.

Ken Harrison, director of intramurals, says that he expects to improve the program this year.

"We have not determined any star players yet and when we do, we'll form an all star team and play the Oconee Campus and enter the Georgia State championship held at Georgia State University," mentioned a hopeful Harrison.

The tournament is co-ed and anyone looking to join a team or form a team can register on the intramurals page on the GSC website. By checking out the classifieds section on the intramurals page, one can post a sports resume in order to encourage recruitment.

There are currently 65 players registered to eight different teams. Basketball games for the intramural teams will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at noon. Basketball pick up games are held on Tuesday's from 3 to 5 p.m. in the gym.
Indoor soccer games are being held as well. Pick up games are held on Thursday's from 3 to 5 p.m. in the gym. Anyone wanting to join can register online or stop by the gym on those days.

Upcoming intramurals include softball and ultimate Frisbee, both start March 17, 2008.
